Antibiotics (by altering colonic flora)- can also inhibit vitamin K epoxide reductase enzyme in the liver 2. Prolonged starvation and TPN. 3. High doses of vitamin E and A antagonize vitamin K. 4. Newborn (immature liver, low vitamin K content of breast milk, a sterile gut, and poor placental transfer of vitamin K)- usually resolves in 1 month otherwise get hemorrhagic disease of the newborn.
